Totally vegan sepcialises in Asian cuisine of creative dishes with a Cantonese emphasis.
It is one of a hand-full of restaurants in the UK that uses a wide range of healthy, vegan mock meat products which allows for everyone to enjoy their favourite dishes that are good for health, the environment and cruelty-free. This is especially good for people that interested in changing to a meat free diet and finding it difficult to make the transition as it show the vast array of options that are available now and how exciting they can be.
ABOUT THE FOOD
It is worth visiting the evening buffet. Sesame toast, fried wonton and steamed dumplings always go very fast. Black bean, black pepper and sweet and sour dishes are very popular. Often there is a really good Indian curry dish.
If you order from the menu, crispy Veggie Bean Curd with Pancakes is a must have. People often travel a long way just to have this dish, and it is also a frequently ordered take-away dish.
Other dishes worth trying are: Tofu with Onions & Chilli in Spicy Szechuan Sauce, Pad Thai Ho Fun (Thai Style fried flat noodle), Stir Fried Asparagus with Garlic or Ginger and Veg Seaweed Ocean with Special Sauce is yummy! The western dishes are limited but you haven’t lived unless you have tried the vegan burger and chips, probably the best in all Chinese restaurants, a real challenge to tell the difference! Try their fish and chips too!!
ABOUT THE PRICE
From Monday to Thursday they have a special all you can eat a la carte menu, which is £12.99 for adults and £ 6.50 for children. On these days there is also an all you can eat evening buffet, priced at £7.90 per person.
A very exciting dim sum menu has now been introduced which is currently the only dedicated vegan dim sum menu in London and one of a few in the country.
ABOUT THE BOSS
Mr. Man, the proprietor, is an award-winning chef. He has been working as the executive chef of the prestigious restaurant chain Royal China for more than 20 years. His wife Mrs. Man has been dedicated to promoting healthy and ethical food choices to the public for many years as well as doing other charitable work, she has also been a mother to 4 children.
